Rochelle founded Dementia Solutions because…

While it is the doctor that diagnoses Dementia, it is the caregiver that treats it!

About Rochelle

Rochelle Pachman is a licensed clinical social worker with a lifelong passion for ensuring that older adults receive the same level of love, care and respect that they once gave to us.

Rochelle is the Founder and Caregiver Educator of Dementia Solutions and is passionate about helping caregivers become as competent and confident as possible.

Rochelle has dedicated her professional life to the well being of older adults in a variety of settings and has a very unique set of skills, training and experience.  She has amassed decades of experience with dementia caregivers resulting in a wealth of wisdom about their needs and has a truly special way of imparting that wisdom to family and professional caregivers.

Rochelle’s informal training started with many years in the nursing home setting, where she cared for hundreds of older adults with Dementia. She then received formal training in the Geriatric Psychiatry Service at the Zucker/Hillside Hospital where she became a Dementia specialist in their outpatient clinic.

For 25 years, she was a valued clinician at East End Neuropsychiatric Associates, where until his retirement in 2021, worked side by side with Dr. Alan Steinberg, a prominent Geriatric Neuropsychiatrist in Centereach, NY.  She counseled thousands of dementia caregivers and also provided individual and family therapy to cognitively intact patients.  She led caregiver support groups and participated in the dementia training of many Stony Brook University Hospital psychiatry residents and geriatric medicine fellows as a member of their voluntary faculty as Clinical Assistant Professor.  She is a frequent speaker to many professional and community audiences on topics related to Dementia and Geriatric Psychiatry.

Rochelle is known for her clear and direct approach, and her warmth and empathy.  Most of all, she is known for her dementia wisdom.
